My take on a couple PBS shows

Watched Frontline last night about Health care around the world and how countries solved the problems of providing care for everyone. Taiwan was interesting because they said they looked at all the other country and didn't use any of them but started fresh and took the best parts of all the countries. You can see a doctor any time you want including a specialist type doctor. Everyone own a policy that cost the same for every on. The state picks up policies for the poor people. Canada has somewhat the same type health care system but like UK where richer people tend to opt out. In Taiwan you can't opt out. All have a single payer system and doctors or hospitals get paid as soon as the bills are sent in. Over all they are spending half the money and getting twice the quantity.

After that I watch a video about some media students growing a acre of corn and finding what all goes into growing corn in Iowa. They grew a genetically modified corn that can stand the herbicide. They have many varieties some made by Monsanto or there's called Liberty. They got a tank of Ammonium Nitrate gas and injected it into the soil as they turned it. Since they did this as a coop which many of the farmers are in they used a large tractor to do this. They seeded the acre with seeds and took about 15 minutes to do an acre. When the first corn came in they were checking it and decided to taste the corn, "Tasted like chalk," they said and spit it out. Since this was special corn that needed to be processed first you can't eat it. They were growing corn to make corn products. The other farmers gave there few words about the fact how cheap the corn is and that you can't do anything like eat it but sell it for the bottom line. They looked into the products like cattle feed that was made out of the corn materials. There's was one other product that seems to get into everything we eat and is used to sweeten processed foods, corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup. It goes into soda mainly. They interviewed a guy that said he was 300 pound and when he stopped drinking soda he lost all that weight. It was to late to reverse the diabetes. They looked into some hospital settings about diabetes. Then it was the look into the subsidies the farmers get. Seems that the farmers can't make any money by just growing corn without any federal subsidies. If they stopped the subsidies the farmers would stop growing corn because they wouldn't grow anything to loose money. I don't know when this was shot but from what they were saying, there is so much of this product that there's a surplus on the market which is making me wonder why the prices are going up.

The new slavery

The new slavery isn't so much like it was 400 years ago. Now it's paying people so little they are all living in poverty. One republican said, "Well they might still be happy even though they don't have everything they want." The rich are getting richer and the poor and middle class are getting poorer. It's not about saving money for the future but just getting by. For those that are connected they get government benefits even though they don't need it, it's that they're in the right place with the right people in power. I heard about a subsidy for people farmers with damages to their live stock due to the shuttle re-entry explosion to the sum of 5 billion dollars. This event happened a few years ago but farmers are getting money for damages even if they didn't have live stock just that they were in the right area with the right republican in office. The farm bill is up for renewal. So many corporations get money not to grow crops or get a guaranteed a good price and when that falls below market they get a check. Selling the crops when the price goes up. Food riots are happening around the world, it should be a warning to the people in government.

For many years now the prices of peoples wages have been going down not keeping up with inflation. That's a word I wonder about and how the markets are being manipulated so the rich can profit during these times and when the dollar gets stronger they would be setting pretty well off with more buying power besides the power they already have for being so rich.

Our view of slavery is a master and his slaves owned like property. Now times have changed, and the owners now use temp slaves. People that are expendable and get just enough money to keep them coming back. They also have rules where you can take time off for yourself to say, look for a better job. You end up driving a couple hours each way to work each day so there's no time to do anything else in your life. Your stuck in this endless loop of getting by.

Republican's talk about the American dream but you can get there from here unless you were born with a platinum spoon in your mouth. Starting from nothing you can only go so far these day. If you have money you can make money which poor people don't have and never will.

Lately I've been hearing about illegals, aliens getting college scholarships and student aid. It's funny thirty plus years ago when I was in college I was working full time while going to school full time. When I applied for student aid I was turned down. When I ask how do I qualify to get student aid. You see I haven't been living at home for years at that time so I didn't understand why they ask me about my parents income. They told me to change my name to a Mexican surname. I didn't understand my father wasn't making that much money, it was a factory job. My mother worked part time. They were just getting by but I was turned down because they made to much even though I didn't live there for years. My parents kept telling me to get a job in a factory somewhere. They never went to college and could understand why it would be good to go to college. When I dropped out at the end of a semester a couple times my GPA went from a 4.o to a 2.5 because I needed to eat and keep a roof over my head. Now illegal fence jumping students are getting a free ride because they are poor fence jumpers that down want to work to put themselves through college like I had to do.

This influx of cheap labor is driving labor prices down except for people like fireman or policemen who have unions that are going to cause the depletion of cities wealth and are really over paid if you ask me. They have a real good retirement package too based on their salary at the time they retire. Most of them get promoted just before they retire too, it's a real trend. If you ever see a cop of fireman at a event, where it take one person there will be at least six. I guess you could make a joke about that. How many cops does it take to change a light bulb? One to do the actual work and six others to bring coffee and donuts for moral support.

If you look at what corporations are doing these days by cutting retirement programs and health care benefits making the worker a disposable commodity. The airlines that went through bankruptcy got the unions to take less money and less benefits then gave the office managers big bonuses for saving the company so much money. This FAA fiasco that's going on right now is part of the cost cutting looking at statistics for saying how safe a airplane is to fly. Playing the odds that if one out of the whole fleet crashes, the insurance will pick up the tab. No loose to the airlines. What gets me is that some airlines get government bail outs while outs get to fold. That has to do with who you know and how much money you donate to campaigns.

If you ever noticed that when people get discounts on things it's always the rich that seem to get prices cut. I never heard a poor person say since I was poor they gave me a huge break. No it doesn't work that way. Say you want to do something to be green and put solar cells on your house. You can get a tax credit for that but the poor who don't have the money to lay out for solar cells that could really use the help get nothing. Every time there is some idea on capital hill it's always people get tax breaks for doing what would benefit them.

It would be a good program to start putting solar cells on all the poor peoples houses free of charge. They would get a benefit for lower cost for their power consumption and there would be more power out there for peak times of the day.

For the most part the energy companies want to have their claws into everything power where you are going to be paying all the time, every month. Just think how much power would be generated if ever person in California had solar cells on there roofs. What is getting me right now is the power companies are telling you to save power but that turns out to be so that more houses can be built. There are so many sell out in offices every where. They are only in office to push through a development for buddies or their self.

When I moved to Northern California I started a series of picture with I called "We Used To Get Food There." It's about the farm lands that are getting homes and econo building put up. This is taking the best farm lands in the world out of productivity and putting a burden on the land. Still working on the series of pictures. Looking at a Google Earth of this area I noticed that the land had what from space looked like a skin condition. It was mini ranches striping the land of water shed plants making bare lands also increasing the heat on the surface because the land was bare. These for the most part are using well water which is depleting the water table making the creeks flow less.

So, as people get less and less for doing more and more without having a master to take care of them because they are now disposable, there's no reason for improvement since there's another worker around the corner that is desperate for work. They say slavery ended after the civil war but has it really. If you making tons of money from a person and not sharing the benefits of those profits, then it's just like slavery. You get a few trinkets for breaking you back and if you get damaged in the process your on your own. The master isn't going to take care of you. Your broken and can't work so what do you do? Some people turn to crime and sell drugs to make ends meet. Some like the cop that started robbing banks to pay his bills.

From the beginning of this countries history it's been about taking advantage of people for your better living. Now it's the republicans mantra. They say in the bible which I doubt that most of these religious right republican haven't read, the meek shall inherit the earth. What does that mean. My best guess is that when things fall apart and you have to live off the land again, the meek, which live off the land and use the least share dominate the earth. It would be great to get these meek people who think they don't count start voting for a more perfect world, stopping pollution, ending hunger, making it where money isn't the root of all evil but people working because they want to work because their efforts would be for the benefit of man and not for a few people that think of scams to get peoples money selling them useless junk and food. No more paper that is worth nothing and getting to be worth less as time goes by. No more people rolling the dice of the economy beating that things would fail and making money off that. This is the communication age maybe this could be the start of the communication world government where we can leave these scamming, swindling leader out and do what's right for the world.

What I've seen today

Every day there's always something new to see. It always amazes me on how much I see every day. Some the same some things totally new. It's spring and with spring brings the flowers and blossoms on the trees. That brings in the bees which haven't been out all that much since it's been cold.

I have been making updated bird bath watering bowls for the birds and mammals. Been watching a woodpecker building a nest. Not sure if it's two birds or one bird making a hole on both sides of the tree. He didn't like me getting close to his work as I worked on the bird bath. Even at the water, about 20 feet away, the bird wouldn't come down and start working.

While moving stones for the bird bath I saw a small lizard like creature. It's almost a snake with real small hands and feet. The other day I saw a real small snake not much bigger then the lizard, about the size of a pencil but half the size around.

There were two quail that come by the last couple days. That's real good to see them. Hope to see a lot more. Waiting to see some baby turkeys soon and also baby skunks, maybe next month. Still trying to make up a housing complex for the skunks so they don't need to live under the house. I don't mind, for the most part they are well behaved as far as you can expect for skunks. They sure are miss understood creatures. For me they come up and walk around me and I never have any problems with them. Last year one of the babies would lean up against my warm foot, just like mom.

Humming birds don't even use the feeder and are taking advantage of all the flowers. I got a few great pictures of the little birds while gardening. They don't seem to be bothered to much by my presents.

The varieties of grasses are growing and the deer are grazing on the grass and trees.

Been hearing owls at night. Can't see the stars with the on and off clouds and rain and cold.

Well, "Wait-wait don't tell me" is on so time to take a time out.

MSRA at St. Elizabeth Heath Care Hospital

Has anyone you know come down with MSRA at St. Elizabeth Health Care Hospital in Brea? Please let me know. I believe that the contaminations have been transmitted due to poor laundry practices. In stead of doing one persons cloths in a load of laundry so that there wouldn't be any cross contamination. St. Elizabeth does everyones laundry together including cloths with fecal matter and doesn't not properly rinse cloths leaving soap, fecal matter and other organics in the cloths.

If anyone in your family has come down with MSRA from St. Elizabeth Hospital Brea or anywhere please post and tell me your story.

Been trying to find out more about MSRA and how it's past around hospitals. Looking at the state web site they have a real cute cartoonish PDF about MSRA. This link above has one thing I was interested in because my father seem to be contaminated by dirty laundry. Where the hospital didn't do the laundry properly and left things like heavy deposits of soap in the garments. If that has happened then I believe that the cloths with fecal matter were just distributed to other cloths contaminating every one that came into contact with them.

Looking up the hospital and the residence complaints there were none.

What gets me is there's no reporting of how the contaminations happen. To find out which hospital has a problem is real hard also since they are paying customers to the search engines then nothing negative comes out about paying customers.

Seems to me that every hospital should have all the errors and infection that happen in a state data base which a law was past last year to have. Finding out that information is another endeavor though.

Working with data bases over the years, even a phone list which I do is better then the states data base. Sort of reflect how the government works. The FBI hired a company in San Diego to make up a data base search program. Millions of dollars and years later the program didn't work and the company was fired, having to start the whole process over.

According to this web page the state requires that MSRA infections need to be reported. This is great for the state but how can you make an informed decision on what hospital you want to go to.

Here's a list of the common infections in the state but it doesn't tell you where they are and what the density is in the city areas.

I don't want to see a fact sheet that tells me what to do to prevent the infections because I know that. I want to know where those infections are and in what density. The USGS has risk maps and shake maps where earthquakes could happen. This same approach should be available with infections. Hearing on the news that "West Nile" infection happened in this one person in this one area doesn't give you a true information on the density of the mosquito infections and how the population of mosquitoes are. Saying we found a bird contaminated in this one area doesn't give you much information. What is the density of mosquitoes in that area. This year was the first year I've seen mosquitoes all year round because it never got cold enough to kill the insects this winter. It's also the driest it's ever been here since I've moved here too. My creek hasn't flowed all year which it used to when I first moved here did. I used to get as much as three feet of water in the creek in the winter months but it seems no one is really interested because other pressing problems like the state budget, the war on terror or terrorist, the economy, sub-prime loans, the recession, or the price of gasoline are more important. I guess money is more important then having a planet that will support life is more important.

Well I'm rambling so I'll stop and continue doing my research on hospitals and infections.

Who they did that and why they are not protecting it

Attorney General says FBI is still getting US citizens personal information and it's even more then they requested. Mean while Bush insists that congress pass a bill giving a blanket protection to companies gathering information about people. Rather it's a phone call, a email or text message like on a blackberry which purposively is one of the communications that caught Spitzer. Congress wants to know what they are protecting but Bush won't tell them.

I agree that you can't make a law protecting some one or some thing if you don't know what it is. We still can't find out why the whitehouse had some people fired and the emails from the whitehouse which are suppose to be archived. The torture tapes were destroys and it wasn't an ooops of one tape being taped over, it was 200 to 300 tapes that were destroyed.

The idea that you trust a person that lied about a war and why he wanted to get into it and now it looks like they are planning for this war to continue at least for another 10 years. We are been blasted day after day why we need to invade another country because of a weapons development program they gave up 5 years ago. But Bush doesn't believe the intelligences and insists he knows better.

This sound like the same things the Germans did before they invaded Poland, being told that Poland was planning to attack them so they need to attack Poland before they attack.

So, big brother is watching you also listening and reading your mail. You can now get tortured. FBI and law enforcement can do what they call a sneak and peak into your house without a warrant. To me this doesn't even sound like a country of laws anymore. It sound more like the totalitarian countries the president is talking about to be democracy to. I guess the next step would be secret prisons for the dissidents what we got that already, Gitmo and a numerous other secret prison in countries you never heard of. We have private army contractors bigger then the army's of many counties. 50% of the contractors in Iraq are this private army which just so happens to be called Blackwater an acronym for oil or hasn't everyone got that yet. The police dogs and enforcers of the corporations. Also a friend of the republican Neo-Cons.

My God, we have become them, the people we have been taught to hate.

You get what you pay for

Why do men hirer $1000 dollar a night prostitutes? Hearing some explanations on the radio really didn’t make sense for me. Saying it was daring for that man. That it was for convenience purposes when a mate wasn’t available.

What I see is a person with the money to spend a $1000 dollars for a night for a professional woman is because he can. You get a quality woman someone of the beauty as a movie star if not better. They are clean a disease free. I’m sure if you gave any average “Joe” on the street the money or the woman and say, have at it, they would take it in a New York minute.

If you noticed the news has said that many of the girls cost up much more then $1000 a night. I’m thinking they are something real special. The news also compared Bill Clinton as hiring a prostitute also, wonder how that make Monica feel, well I guess she was a working girl in one way or another.

To hear all these people especially the republicans being outraged after being caught many times soliciting sex from some one, Larry Craig. Or a minister saying how bad homosexual is then he finds out he is one and have been paying a male prostitute plus doing methamphetamine, Reverent Ted who said he didn’t have sex in Denver as his defense, since it was in a out lying area. That was the truth as far as saying it was not in Denver. He never denied that he had sex with a male prostitute or did speed and it wasn’t a little speed like a casual user might get it was a ¼ ounce, something that a person could use for a couple months. Maybe he needed a bump to write all those anti gay sermons on the mount. Then he went to anti-gay camp and was cured of his gayness, ya right.

As far as Elliot goes, I say right on for getting quality goods that men only dream about. As far as how they found out about it, that warrant-less wire tapping really works when you want to destroy a political opponent. Then again the very rich companies that he went after have enough money a resources that they could monitor his behaviors and find out just about anything about anyone. Just look at all that junk mail that is targeted towards you. Republicans are feeling rather desperate right now and won’t stop at anything to win. So the man is human and had to relieve a little tension, it just cost more then the average guy could pay but if they could I’m sure they would be giving them a call.

If you listen to the pop culture there aren’t very many singers that don’t talk about getting a professional woman. You get what you pay for.

It's the sun and blossoming flowers

What a great day, the sun is out. The plum, pear, cherry and willows trees have buds and flowers. There's also daffodils opening up. Last night I had the windows open until 10 PM. The air smells so fresh and clean. The little birds are out, so are the squirrels. The young squirrels are playing with there little friends the game of chase, testing out their squirrel skills. Winters not over and it's spring like weather. Hope it doesn't have any snow in the future like past years where it knocked off the blossoms of some of the fruit trees. That was a poor years for fruit. If it stays like this with gentle rain then it's going to be a good fruit year but it's going to be dry. The creek hasn't got any water. Last two years the creek was flowing but stopped early in the year. When I first moved here the creek flowed all year round. Lot's of deadwood to trim from the trees. A happy forest is a clean forest. There's a calm right now with the birds and squirrels everyone is enjoying the day. In about an hour they will be back to get the last snack before they perch in the trees for the night. Last night was nice hearing the first owls and frogs.

An oil company manipulating the market, imagine that.

An oil company manipulating the market, imagine that. Like an oil company could do that to get it's way to drill in Alaska, again. Just like the first time they manipulated the market in the 70's to get the Alaskan Pipeline in, driving the price of oil higher to get their way. They are doing it again to get their way to drill in a wild life sanctuary. Imagine that.

A president because he is in oil letting it happen. Imagine that.

A vice president because he is in oil. Imagine that.

McCain to follow in Bush's foot steps.

McCain is getting senile and wants to follow the loosing strategy of Bush's. Out of touch and out of mind with real Americans. Must be getting to old for complex thinking other wise he wouldn't be sucking up to Bush. He forgot what Bush has done and said about him. Not good, short term memory loss. Saying that the invasion of Iraq is in the past and we shouldn't worry about it. He must be getting a big check in some secret bank account to have such a turn around. Why would we want a president that doesn't know anything about the economy, he said it. He just following the same stuff Bush is doing a touch of death to anything he touches. We can't let big business have a president that's bought off like Bush or Bush's brain Chaney. After hearing Bush's speech today talking about drilling for oil in a wild life refuge it's clear to me that the high price of oil is just like before the Alaskan pipeline was built and Exxon manipulated the market. Mean while Bush keep pumping oil into the ground in what called the Strategic Oil Reserve, a program the was started to put oil in the ground when oil was cheap. Some one, most likely Bush's friends are making record amounts of money. They don't even have to refine the oil just pump it into the ground. If you can drill a hole to pump oil into this salt dome than others can drill a hole into that salt dome and pump it out without anyone knowing. Then you just sell the oil back to the Strategic Reserve and the cycle goes round and round. The price of oil won't go down until Exxon gets it's way and gets to drill in Alaska.

Bush and McCain think big business need more tax breaks and not to pay taxes. History is repeating itself just like the Roman Empire fell because the rich never paid taxes and the poor had too until it failed.

As far as the world goes, the republicans still don't believe in any science except when it can be used to make money such as refining more oil or burning coal.

If no one caught it today in Bush's speech, he said, "Until we can find a way of sequestering coal" and not sequestering Carbon Dioxide.

Poor Bush did too much partying and now has a wet brain that's why he stammers with his words. It's permanent brain damage. He wants to think he's in charge so when he's "The decider" he won't go back on any decisions. He's insecure about his decisions and his mental capabilities.

Just like Katrina and the lack of a response there he's doing the same thing with the economy. Let's wait and hope it fixes itself then take credit for it. Drunks are like that you know.

Exxon vs. Alaska, what should happen

Hearing what Exxon has to say for itself as far a weaseling out of responsibility's over paying punitive damages. I think Alaska needs to boot them out and keep all there toys. Exxon has been dragging it's feet all along even when it came to the clean up or reporting that they ran a ground. As Exxon is stating that they want this done under maritime laws maybe that will work too. Take there ships away. Take the pipeline away. Hang the sailors that were on the ship at the time of the spill and any other crew that is in Alaska now. Treat them as a hostile country and invade Exxon around the world. Don't stop until Exxon is no more.

After all they were the ones that caused the oil shortage back in the late 70's to get the pipeline by putting pressure on the people of the United States. There wasn't a shortage.

Corporations need to be held responsible for what they do along with the people that run them. Has they did in days of old, they tarred and feathered the people that hurt a community.

It's only torture if it's not legal and there's a law.

Very interesting the way people pose "Water Boarding." The people in the field doing it say it's controlled drowning. While others say is simulated drowning. If it's not stopped then the person will drown so it sounds like the person being water boarded is getting drowned to me. Saying it's not torture because there isn't a law and if there was a law saying it was legal then it's not torture. The the Attorney General was asked if he had it done to him was it torture, he said yes. I think before the pass a law that any law maker need to have to have been water boarded to see if it's torture or only simulated drowning. After all this was a technique use in the Spanish Inquisition and that where the church was doing some rather nasty stuff. So I guess next they will be passing laws on "The Rack" saying it's simulated stretching. That "The Iron Madden" is simulated punctures.

What gets me is that if another country used that on our citizen or military it's illegal and it has been for many-many years. It's on the books that way but now it seems that you could be in "That Group," "Those People" who are out to get us. After all it's us or "Them, right?

Then again you could be labeled one of those without a trial and be held without a trail in some jail in another country where no one even know where you are. So I guess you need to watch out what you say and to whom you say it. Never check out a library book, read it there. Because "They" are watching.

Perhaps we are asking the wrong questions during election years.

Our Senators and Congresswomen do not pay into Social Security and, of course, they do not collect from it.

You see, Social Security benefits were not suitable for persons of their rare elevation in society. They felt they should have a special plan for themselves. So, many years ago they voted in their own benefit plan.

In more recent years, no congressperson has felt the need to change it. After all, it is a great plan.

For all practical purposes their plan works like this:

When they retire, they continue to draw the same pay until they die.

Except it may increase from time to time for cost of living adjustments..

For example, Senator Byrd and Congressman White and their wives may expect to draw $7,800,000.00 (that's Seven Million, Eight-Hundred Thousand Dollars), with their wives drawing $275, 000.00 during the last years of their lives.

This is calculated on an average life span for each of those two Dignitaries.

Younger Dignitaries who retire at an early age, will receive much more during the rest of their lives.

Their cost for this excellent plan is $0.00. NADA..! ZILCH...

This little perk they voted for themselves is free to them. You and I pick up the tab for this plan . The funds for this fine retirement plan come directly from the General Funds;

Snow Day

No day here all day. Finally snow and moisture but my creek that used to run all years still hasn't started running. Other changes that I've noticed, it's snowing and I have mosquitoes and pigeons which in the past only came in summer. Last year I had coastal bird here for the winter which is 150 miles away and 50 miles north. I don't leave that to misguided birds but a change in the weather patterns. There are also several type of sage starting to show up in the last few years.
I'm so amazed at the little birds and how they can tolerate the weather here. Under normal conditions this place without a house would have been a harsh place to live. It wouldn't have been a normal place to travel because of the rocky hills, dense brush and rapidly changing weather. In the summer it's too hot and the winter it's too cold. Still the wild life lives as long as they have enough space left to live. looking at the country side with Google Earth and World Wind a great NASA program you can see the land looks like it has a infection or rash with blotches of cleared land. Fences are another problem for wild life preventing there travel for food. If it wasn't for the gold rush this place would sill be a undeveloped. Now it's taken on a new roll where people come to retire from the bay area. A lot of old hippies that wanted to be with nature moved here. Then there are the rich who can buy large plots of cheap land and build their Mc Mansions. This is a place where the animals need the space to travel because there isn't that much natural food and humans are bringing in plants that don't belong here and they use lots more water then indigenous plants. Again I bring up the people of Easter Island and how they perished. This is a same type of ecosystem that will have the same outcome for animals and humans. With the clearing of the lands the water shed is being removed causing water to run off the mountain and foot hills rather then soaking in to the ground, that's why my creek isn't running all year round these days like it used to.

"The Speech" keep on doing the same

Nothing new just took an hour of my time. It's full speed the same. More war spending. He did say he would start funding the vets after cutting their budget for that past 7 years. He still wants to privatize Social Security saying that something bad will happen in the future if we don't do something now. Well, if you didn't spend the 75 trillion dollars that were suppose to be set aside then it would still be there.

Bush is still the axes of evil and it radiates out to his friends and families. Big money talks and the rest of us just have to eat crap.

If you think your rich, rich starts at about 800 million dollars. The rest of the people are the lower class unless your giving a donation to the campaign then they have their hand out and smile and promise you the moon. After they are elected they wouldn't piss on you is you were on fire.

The Future of North America

As far as global warming goes, it seems that big business hears the peoples concerns but plans to do nothing about it but fill the TV screens with dancing elephants and tell us how good they are and the coal and oil are clean fuels. Trucks driving down the road with rainbows which mean nothing because the diesel engine is the dirtiest engine and produces a substance that if you smell it and your breathing that smell it's like breathing asbestos. Something that the trucking industry has been covering up for 70 years. Misinformation will be the way of the future along with fear. Fighting the ultimate war a enemy that you can't see or find. It's a new world order where the government reads your mail, your email, listens to your phone call and tracks your every move.

Sounds of Silence

The storm has past. The winds are down to nothing but a calm nothing. A light dusting of snow is on the branches and everything not in contact with the wet ground. Last night was a different story with the wind whipping and rain falling along with branches. Things were hitting the house but I didn't go out to find out what the noises were, it was safer and warmer inside. I heard the UPS units trip and alarms go off, that's when I turned the computer off. I didn't even notice the lights dim or flicker but wasn't going to take any chances. The security light was turning on due to the movement outside. There was nothing there but wind and rain. The little birds are out looking for seeds to eat silently. A squirrel is here eating sun flower seeds that I throw out along with some cracked corn for them. Life's hard for the little creatures of the forest. They don't get a break if the weathers bad out, they need to eat no matter what. I saw a raccoon on the porch as I was getting ready for bed, it was all wet with it's hair sticking together. It didn't mind me looking out the door because food was the only thing on her mind. It was a hash night for them all but now it's calm like an empty room. The ground is moving with the little bodies of the Juncos, sparrows, doves and the one squirrel. There's seeds under the snow on the picnic table and the birds are getting them out by flapping there wings to blow the snow away. I wouldn't say I was scared last night but it was an ere feeling Time to make a cup of coffee and watch the little birds with wonder.

What about that melting ice?

As I remember from geology. There has been several ice ages. After the last one melted back the great lakes were formed. As the ice retreated towards the North pole area the land which was once covered lost a lot of weight. As I remember the land raised up to balance out from the loss of 1 mile of ice on it. Just wonder what's going to happen when the ice melts at Greenland, will the whole land mass lift up, will other areas sink? It's all floating on the earths mantel and that's all in balance. Just a thought, if Greenland goes up then some other areas will go down. Of course there must be some earthquake associated with that too. The crust which behaves like a plastic still will get cracks. Just wonder what areas that will effect.

Evangelical, the idiot vote

Evangelical the idiot vote because they haven't learned in seven years that some one that says they are church going evangelical are not moral and don't have ethics. They want another four years of a Bush like look a like. You have to remember evangelicals do not believe in science but myths. When it comes to picking a person with morals, republicans have no morals and support big business and will be shipping your jobs over seas. Then again you have to think about those inbred red states, you never hear someone say, "I'm moving to Cow-sniffer, Texas because it more moral" or that it has better job opportunities. No, everyones moving to California because of the morals this state has because it's open minded, it has the best high tech jobs. Not to mention that the weather is better then getting flooded out every year or ice storms. The red states still have their heads in the sand following the leaders of their churches because they don't have minds of their own. They almost finished high school and don't need to learn anything more because they know it all. As far as saying those red states have morals then why is the divorce rate higher in red states then the blue states. When it comes to hate crime you only have to look and say it's a red state, that's what they do there, too much inbreeding. Now there's the people shooting up places, again red states, church goers. Reverent Ted the gay meth smoking preacher who didn't have sex with a man in Denver but a suburb of Denver, so he was telling the truth he didn't have sex with a man in Denver. Now he's cured of his gayness but he still can fart normal. Wonder if his wife is a back door person.

To hear those evangelicals say they are picking out a moral candidate, well we saw how they pick out a moral president last time, must be that short term memory loss because of smoking meth and they forgot what happened seven years ago. They forgot that this so called compassionate president started a war and has not only been blowing up unborn children but the mothers too. Mean while they still want to save embryos that a destine for the trash and prevent cell research thinking that scientist are going to make a Frankenstein human. Those same church goers still believe that Iraq had something to do with 9/11. They believe that weapons of mass destruction were found in Iraq. If any state needed a literacy test it would be the red states. Set a standard, you didn't get through high school you can't vote until you do. Let not forget the ranch hands that think being gay is wrong but love those sheep in a carnal way and think nothing of it.

DTV convertion for next year. Where's the Box?

After reading and searching thought page after page of text I found that the converter boxes that the government will give low income people won't start until January 1, 2009. They are allocating a set amount of money for coupons for this program but it seems too little for me. You house hold income can't be more then $19k which sounds like the majority of people out there before the price of flat screen TV's come down in price.

Looking up the prices of converter boxes that are on the market right now they range from $350 dollars and up. The government believes that they will come out with cheaper one that are about $50 dollars. They have a list on places that sell them but again the price is $350 dollars and up. One was over $2,000 so there must be some sort of program to get them cheaper. I see it as a big money making program for manufactures and people that sell them.

I looked into the chip that does the decoding of the digital signal and it's cost is around $13 dollars. How they are going to make a box that's in the $50 dollar range is going to be a good trick. You have to think some one has to make circuit boards. The price of all the chips that go on the circuit boards because it's not a one chip operation, just look at what it takes to decode satellite information. There also is the hardware to assemble the box such as screws, nuts and bolts. Since it works at such high frequencies there is going to be needed shielding to keep the noise in the box so it doesn't interfere with other electronic devices in your home.

From working in manufacturing and knowing how things are priced and marked up, the boxes have to be sold from the manufactures to the stores for about $25 dollars. The manufactures cost marks it up about 10 times the cost that they sell it for so that means the cost to the manufacture has to be around $2.50 dollars. That include labor and all the costs of all the parts. I don't know how they are going to bring the cost of the digital decoding chip at it's current cost.

What got me out of all this searching yesterday was how much reading I had to do searching for the coupon program only to find out it won't start until next year. Seems like there's going to be a big rush all at once next year to get boxes and what I can see is a lot of people are going to be left out. You'll have to look into some of the sites like I did. See how complex the laws are and how complex it is to figure out if you can get a coupon to buy a box. The TV ad that's on TV right now tells you about the switch and the web site to go to but going there doesn't tell you anything except how to hook it up, that there is a coupon program, why they are switching over but not the full store about that. You need to go to the government site to find out more and that's where it gets fun. Spend a day trying to figure out if you qualify for a coupon. Then try to find out if you can even find a box out there to buy because when you start looking the boxes on the market now are all discontinued.

A Special Morning, Cold and Crisp

A special morning for me here, different and unique, as I walked outside to see what was in the sky, I noticed it was one degree below freezing. I could see sparkling ice crystals covering everything. The moon was up and Venus was bright and in the trees making me wonder what it was. Had to check one of my astronomy programs to be sure. As I walked to the west side of the house the security light came on. I could see a skunk wandering around. He came up the steps following a scent he laid down like a dog does. He cut through the shrubs and came walking back towards me, sniffing the ground. When he got to me he smelled my slippers and kept walking. I stood there motionless not to startle him and have him run off before he had something to eat. I went in through the back door and walked over to the front door to see where he was. At first I didn't see him but soon he came walking up eating sunflower seeds left out for the birds and squirrels. The sky is starting to get light, sunrise will be in about an hour. Time for another cup off coffee. Now that it's getting light the skunk will go to bed and hide in the dark until tonight. They aren't as active as they were in the summer month. I don't know if it's the cold or longer night or if I just see them less then I did in the summer. That's when I saw them traveling as a family mom dad and the kids out foraging. They are more interested in exploring as they are in eating. You have to think of them as the cleaners that work at night to leave a fresh forest for the day. Out of all the wild life the skunks have been the most interesting and unique.

EPA says tail pipe gases are good for you

EPA sucking the tail pipes of big American car makers votes against California's law to reduce tail pipe emissions. Well there's a way around that, ban the American auto makers from coming into the state because they pollute to much. Well you had to expect this since it's Bush's buddy's in the EPA who are none scientist making policies. Since foreign car makers can make these standards it's time to send a message to Washington and Detroit. No more new American cars in California will fix the problem. If you want to play by Bush's rules then you need to take harsher measures. When a American car gets a smog check here and fails because it's not meeting the new California green house emission laws and you can't register the car but have to take it out of state and sell the cars.

George W. Bush, "Milk Toast of the Year"

Toast of the Year and George won again. Listening to the press conference I was wondering why the reported don't ask and good question. I forgot, these press conferences are scripted and Bush knows the questions before he starts. Bush needs a writer to talk and they are out of strike. Shooting from the hip Bush sounds like a country bumpkin that's drunk. After being a drunk for so many years he's still coming out of that wet brain state. His disjointed statement are examples that a substandard student can grow up to be president as long as you have a big business force behind him. Use Daddy's friends because when you were drunk you alienated all the people you once knew.

What I don't understand is why impeachment proceedings haven't started yet. If any people needed to be removed from office it's Bush and Chaney. With the lies told in the lead up to the Iraq ear, people, mostly shallow minded Evangelicals believe Bush has found WMD in Iraq. They also believe from all the lies that Al Quieda was involved in Iraq.

Why don't the reported ask Bush why he invaded Iraq. Why does he keep pushing the privatizing of the Iraqi oil fields. When does he project when the troops will be coming home, like in what day or year. That crap he give, "We will stand down when the Iraqis stand up. There are more mercenaries in Iraq then there are standard troop shooting up the place. So as I count there's over 500,000 troops able to fight there while the freedom fighters and people the they tortured are still fighting. The one independent poll on how many Iraqis have died since the start of the war is over 600,000. No mention on how many women barring unborn children have died but that doesn't matter because they didn't have an abortion but a bomb that killed them so that's okay.

He gave his "The economy is just fine" quote. What planet does he live on. Well the economy is going good for the real rich and the government is bailing out the investors of the sub prime mess. Funny how the rich never loss because they are connected and people pull strings for them. Mean while people can't go into bankruptcy because of the new laws. Even if you loose you house you still have to pay off that investor so he won't loose.

Bush was asked about the destruction of the torture tapes, (which America doesn't do.) He's claiming ignorance on this one which isn't so hard for him, or until they all get the story straight. It's not a couple tapes like I first thought but 200 to 300 hours of tapes. That's a truck load of tapes. Maybe that's what was burning in Chaney's office yesterday along with all the other secret papers that if gotten out would make this administration look worse then they already do.

Don't you wish Windows XP worked every time.

Still dealing with the Win32 error problem. So nice looking up on Microsoft's search engine and find out you have to buy a product not made by Microsoft to fix the problem. Be nice if XP worked without giving you an error message and tells you to restart the machine. Be even nicer if it would tell you what is going wrong. So I have a Win32 error and part of the problem is the SVCHOST.EXE problem. I know I can't get online to send the an error report because it says my modem is already being used. I downloaded the patch from Microsoft which is suppose to fix the problem but after restarting the machine for over an hour it finally works. What a great product. This first started after updating to Internet Explorer 7.0 and after that the rest is history, the Win32 error. I've been putting my computer into hibernate rather then turning it off so I won't have to deal with this problem since Microsoft hasn't figured it out yet. Looking up the problem on MSN's web site they have page after page of fixes and reasons for the error. I've noticed that Apple has a page for this problem for the people running Windows on their Apples. Nice to hear that Windows runs faster on a Mac also. Now Microsoft has come out with a new operating system, full of problems. People are buying new computers and taking off the new operating system. I just love getting something that doesn't work out of the box and where you need to spend days installing patches to fix the broken product.

Top it off, Microsoft has geared up with Ford to have crap in cars. I'm wondering how many updates and patches your going to need before it works. How many versions of the same product are you going to have to install.

I've been trying to install Windows Live for the past 9 hours. The program just stops. It thinks it working but then after stopping the program it comes up with the error, "Program stopped responding." Don't give up you just need to strat it over and over until it goes all in.

Frosty wet morning

It looked like the little birds could use some seeds. So I slipped on my fuzzy slipper and ventured out with a pound of seeds in a coffee can. I could see why the birds were having a hard time finding something to eat, the ground is covered with frost along with being wet from the rain from that past couple days. Still the birds need energy so they are out every day no matter what the weathers like. Rays of sun light is coming through the trees. Where it hits the cold frozen ground it's turning into a fog and steaming off. The sun on the wet leaves looks like a icy reflective surface. Still in the shade the ice crystals sparkle as I move by and the light refracts of them.

The hummingbird is getting breakfast and I think I need to fill the feeder up for the little bird. Some times when I'm outside the humming bird will fly right up to my face to check me out. See who is the nice guy putting food out for them. As soon as my eyes focus on how close the bird is to my face they fly away.

The little Oregon Junco's are back zipping around eating seeds. Suddenly they fly into the trees and shrubs as if danger was around. A silence is in my forest but soon broken and the birds are flying once again.

Yes it's a cold fall morning in paradise. Time to enjoy life with a cup of French Roast coffee and be amazed at the forest as it comes alive.

Twisted Religions

Just amazed me the stink that Muslims are making over the Teddy Bear name, wanting to put to death a teacher after the kids in the class named him Mohammad. What about the parents that name their kids Mohammad, should they be put to death too. Seems with the age of communication as it is these days where people can hear most story instantaneously but still there is that passing of a message from one person to another error. It's not just Muslims that have twisted views of the world but all fundamentalist seem to have a real twisted view of religion. If you look at the origins of religion first there was the Jewish religion, then the Christians which took about four hundred years to get organized, then came the Muslims religion picking what it wanted from the other two and leaving out what it thought was bad. Mainly religions have always been about controlling people. The Kings and Church used religion to conquer lands in the name of religion taking the wealth or gold in the name of their God's. That promise of life after death was adopted and the followers flocked to the churches or mosques. You pretty much could do anything if it was in the name of God. To think you would put all your trust in just one book and reject the other books of the world seems rather shallow, how can you be a whole man or person by only reading one book. Some people forget that the bible isn't one book but a series of stories bound into one book and it was rewrote to sound better by the Puritans the people the Pilgrims wanted to get away from, now they are here in many names but you couldn't tell them that because they don't read history books.

XMAS report or stock market report

I've been hearing the last few days the XMAS reports and it sound like a stock market report. Be interesting if we went back to the old way of a religious holiday but then again what would the economy do. Myself I'm burned out already with all the ads. I can't stand going into a store and seeing all the "XMAS" junk and it is junk. So many people are buying useless junk that they will never use. The TV ads just get me, "Buy this car and tell her you love her" like that a measure of love. You have to wonder what people are thinking when they make these ads. What kind of person they are. You might compare them to snake oil sales men with very low morals.

What else gets me is there's a couple wars going on and it seems the Christmas hasn't been effected at all from the people selling good. No sacrifices from anyone here in this country. Bush's ideas of sacrifice is to go shopping, that's going to help fight terrorism.

What I don't get is those evangelicals who scream about values are silent. I guess the values they have aren't that great. The bar is rather low for them. Meanwhile they keep thinking that gay marriage and abortion will save the country from terrorist at least that's how they vote.

Christmas is for children but it's been bastardized by the corporate world taking the value right out of this holiday.

Rove on Charley Rose

Karl Rove was on Charley Rose last night. I always knew Karl was a good lier. Karl said, "This administration did not want to go to war with Iraq." I must have been on the wrong plane or something but my recall of events have a completely different take of events. Then he was pulling clips from obscure news papers quoting how good the war is going. Charley totally had to question Karl about that and what the real solution is, a political one like everyone else is saying. This war is still a money pit in the pursuit of oil for Bush and Chaney's friends. Propaganda isn't going to change that. We haven't heard anything about WMD in years. Bush stopped talking his "Church slang." How many times has Bush changed his turn about why we are at war, about as many times as you change your sock, hopefully every day. Well history well tell in time that Bush was the worst president and drove this country into near bankruptcy but the story isn't finished for another year so he can do more damage like start a war with Iran.

Why American children are stupid, Dover School Board

Watching the PBS NOVA series about the Dover School Board and teaching or trying to teach kids about "intelligent design" a weak attempt at bringing the bible into the class room. Thank God they lost the court case other wise we would be going even farther behind the rest of the world. It too bad that there are those people that can't see the truth in science. For me that's why I stopped going to church because of the lies they were teaching and I have to say, religion has the biggest holes ever. How anyone could take that as fact is beyond me. The bible, it's not science it's theology. Albert has a theory but you can't test it because you can't go faster then light just yet. DNA is a real good way of proving Darwin. Carbon and atomic dating isn't other tool in the box of knowledge. No wonder the red states don't have any technical industry they don't have the staff to maned them. Then again anyone smart born in a red state moves to a blue state with the rest of the other smart people.

Rudy says he's tough enough to do water boarding

Rudy says water boarding isn't torture so he's planing to do a demo in public to show people how tough he is. I really want to see him say uncle and confess to all his sins too.

Just love those comments about the liberal media too. Where is that liberal media he's talking about. So any media that says anything or questions what's going on is liberal media.

I guesswhen a guy gets married three times and gives his word to his wife and God he surely can't be trusted when he's been married three time. How can he take an oath of office and be trusted to uphold it since he hasn't done that before. The people off New York hated Rudy before 9/11. Now his buddy is going to prison, the top cop buddy. What other crime organization is he tied to after all he did take out the competition. Maybe Rudy's the new Dom, whacking all the competition.

I really don't see him as a man that can be trusted, not with any single replacement woman out there or some mans wife. Not with money or the countries military.

Win 32 error, svchost error, what a bunch of crap!

What a bunch of crap,update to Internet Explorer 7 SP2 and the updates that followed after installing it and ever since then the none stop errors. I looked it up on the Microsoft web site and there are tons of pages on how to fix it sort of. There's a patch but that has to be loaded every time you start the computer. Then restart the computer and after several tries it works. It's funny that the only version of an operating system that Microsoft ever had was the R-Dos which was made by some one other then Gates. Even since then there hasn't been one product that came out that doesn't need upgrades and patches. Now they got Vista out and haven't finished developing XP. They stopped supporting the older versions like 98 and before. When is Microsoft going to come out with something that works right the first time out of the box. I really hate have to be the proving ground for Microsoft. They have enough money that they need to pay me every time something doesn't work. MAC's don't have this problem, they work right all the time. They come with everything you need to work and no crap shareware if you buy a new computer with bundled software. I'm so thinking of going to LINUX. There must be another company that makes an operating system that will work with the programs I run. I'm really glade that Europe has got the suit with Microsoft to release the operating system so real working software can be developed that works right all the time. What gets me is I don't hardly even use IE except Microsoft makes you to get updates.

Cleaning things up and getting rid of CO2 and other good things

Some people are selling the idea of getting green or making look like they are green. Sure a dancing elephant looks cute. Then there is the diesels with the rainbow and saying we are making cleaner fuels. As they would say on SNL new update, "Really." Listening to the show today and hearing the GM rep. saying it's coming in the future. Or Carl Levin who I think is a great leader take the side of the car companies. Then there's the tax breaks for the refineries and oil companies. One thing I notice is if they do nothing they get tax breaks. Oil is at an all time high. Some ones making a lot of money and it isn't me. The thing I hears from these profit centers are all saying is every thing cost more as the pull in record breaking quarters. They won't say we are taking advantage of the public because we can or we are doing this so the public will let us drill in wild life sanctuaries. That was a common thyme back in the seventies where they delivered oil to anywhere but here driving the price of gas up until the Alaskan Pipeline was approved. After it was approved oil prices dropped rapidly even' thought the pipeline wasn't even built. The oil deal in Iraq that Bush is pushing is to privatize the oil field and the Iraqis can see that isn't a good deal for them. We saw but don't remember what the CIA did in Iran by placing a dictator in office that was friends to the oil companies and the outcome from that. I don't want to get into history lessons though. What I want to say about getting green is it needs to be done now and now twenty years from now. An analogy of what the world is doing, I came up with this while watching an old StarTrek episode. We are in a space ship traveling to a far off land but we forgot to take enough fuel along to get back. We also forgot to take enough extra air along and the CO2 in the ship is building up. We scarped the air scrubbers that would have taken the CO2 out of the air because someone complained it was too expensive. So there we go traveling along unprepared and we have past the half way point so there's no turning back. The ideas of tax credits for cutting CO2 is another shell game, it's like being on the ship and telling the people aboard that they will have an ever other breathing day. Of course like the old west people wouldn't want to be told what they can and can't do so people get mad and start killing each other for their own existence. Seems there are always those that panic when their liberties are infringed on even if it would cost the lives of others.

The Bold Move:

It would be a real good idea since the would is going to keep growing population wise to stop all green house gases. That would be the goal. The thing is that the lower classes are stuck in the middle of big business where they want to sell off all the crap they have before it's classified as something you can't use any more. What I'm getting at, the oil companies want to keep selling oil even if there was a replacement energy. People have been saving energy so new power plants don't need to be built at least that's what they tell us as they keep building more homes. Then what do I hear, the power companies are loosing money because people are saving to much so they want to raise the rates to make up for their losses.

What I don't understand is the national oil reserve. Bush has been pumping oil into the salt dome since he took office in 2001. Seems that is he stopped buying oil and driving up the price of oil thing would calm down on the futures market which I think need to be removed since that's just a form of gambling where the people are the losers. Hedge funds are even flakier where they are betting on stocks to fail to make their money. So with a industry without control it seems it would be real easy to manipulate the market, sort of like the movie Trading Places." People are doing things in their interest and not in the interest of the future of the United States since every thing they do is only sort term gains.

Everyone hates a sales man:

The sub prime loan debacle was something a sales man made look good like a high value life insurance policy. They made the deal look so good that like life insurance you even thought you got to collect the money when you died. Remember back a few years ago when Enron was busted for jacking up the price of power and making fake shortages. Then other things started happening on the stock market, they would have people give crappy stocks good marks and sold them to unsuspecting people. The stock market walked away with billions of dollars and when caught fined 1.2 billion and told not to do that again. When it was suggested they regulate the industry they said they were good and didn't need that. Well they did, they moved into sub prime loans and did the same scam. There's another problem with capitalism, black market money which there is just as much out there as the money being tax or the legal money but we don't know for sure since it's black market money.

Where's Kenny?

Well Kenny died before he could go to jail for his involvement in Enron but have you seen the body? Remember he's a friend of the president and the president has been making people disappear for several years now to unknown locations. Is Kenny really dead or is he living life on some desert island some where?

Correcting errors:

Since rich white people never go to jail even for murder things need to be toughened up for fraud where it effects millions of people. They need to get charge with fraud for each person they effects. In some cases I don't rule out the death penalty if any person dies while this fraud was committed. Remember Lincoln Savings and loan, there was several senators tied to that but Cranston's said he was to sick to testify at that and distanced himself from the whole deal, so did that other senator from Arizona, what was his name? The one with the black love child. Oh wait that was one of Karl Rove's lies that cost John McCain a lot of votes. That's another thing that needs the death penalty lies while campaigning. Since Bush's team was spreading the rumor John would get to shot one of Bush's team for the lie and it would be legal, anyone even Bush. Well that would take care of dishonest politics. Maybe most other things after that would start falling in place also. People that give good ratings on homes and stocks, life in prison, no exceptions, mandatory, No presidential pardons. Too many white collar crime get such minor sentences, if they were really enforced and stiffened up life would be more "Christian Like." Remember Kenny from Enron he was one of the Christians one of those God fearing people, "Ya Right." If a company cheats, the CEO gets the death penalty. That will fix oversight.

So get rid of the ties to big business and the CO2 problem would seem to start correcting itself.

Well that might happen, since the demarcates want to balance the budget once again. That they already want to change the "Alternative Minimum Tax" to keep up with inflation and protect the middle class. Rudy didn't say that the taxes that the "Rich top 10%" would now have to pay taxes who he is only worried about. You have to have guest that republicans really don't care about you. Whether you have insurance. Whether poor children even have health care. Bush didn't even want to improve flood control but is only interested in oil and how to get it. Iran's a state sponsor of terror and the guard also a terrorist group and we slapped sanctions on them but why is Halliburton still there. Why have they been trading with them since the Carter Administration. Those chemicals Saddam had, where did they come from, Halliburton seem to sell them the stuff. Taxes, Rudy would rather borrow the money and make the dollar worth less like Bush has been doing. You can only run up the credit card dept so much before they want their money back. Then again Republicans are cheap that's why they are rich they never pay for anything. Take from the poor and give to the rich, what a motto. Trickle down as Regan said, well that turned out to be pissing on the poor. It didn't work but the republicans want you believe that it work because they never admit when they did something wrong but blame others. Rudy as far as giving his word to God and his wifes, well you can see where I'm going on that. Rudy's word doesn't mean much as far as God goes since he's out for himself. Till death do you part or is it until something better comes along. So if you want a weak dollar and high priced oil where your paying tons of money to the energy giants like Exxon and PB or even Enron go ahead and vote republican. You want far priced health insurance or do you want the republicans plan to force you to buy inflated health care prices. Well most of those red state people will be voting on morals, whether it's abortion or gay marriage but not on a strong dollar, not on security, not about corruption, and corruption with this war which is and has been very good for some republicans. It's too bad people had to die to line the pockets of a few. Now that's moral. What about acts of treason such as lying to the American public about why Bush and Chaney wanted to go to war? They didn't say it was for cheap oil because no one would say that was a good idea. No, they told large lies and even believed them themselves after repeating them so many time. Flesher got ass cancer from telling so many lies. Most of the administration has left because they are having morals and can't destroy the planet to enrich a few billionaires. Now that's not too moral wouldn't you say. Now Bush and Chaney want to bomb Iran to get closer to the oil, it really has nothing to do with much else. So, voting for Rudy will still put you in a crappy tax bracket so the rich won't have to pay taxes anyway. Your still going to have to pay most of your pay check to drive across the street. The stock market is in the dumper and getting worse and jobs keep going over seas as we just seen with the auto companies new contracts. So, if you want to protect those rich people follow Rudy's advice, protect the rich from paying their far share. Go ahead, let them laugh all the way to the bank while you worry about where you next pay check is coming from. Don't worry about your health, if you get sick and end up homeless you'll die on the streets.

Amazing, wasted votes

It just amazes me to hear people who are conservative vote for the president because he is against abortion, like that will make the country safer. Another issue is the vote against gay married like that would keep a terrorist from attacking the United States. Or even voting for a president because he's a born again Christian like that makes him a better person of something. Just voting pure republican blindly like the vote for Bush was and you see where that got us. Jobs are still moving over seas that's because republicans are for big business and don't care about you. Bush hates children but will support his buddies and the military industrial machine. Most all the contractors now working for the US government in both wars are riping off the tax payers but you thing those narrow minded voters care, no they are going to vote for a president that is against abortion. To hell with the way the country is going. Forget you future and your children's and grand children's future, we selling America to anyone that has some fast money. No one is talking about long term goals for the country. Bush has the balls to ask for $200 billion to fight his war but can't help kids because he says it would cost to much. 41 days of the price of the war would take care of the program for ten years. Bush s saying things about global warming but is doing nothing to change things. He changed the way we measure unemployment and inflation so things look better then they really do. The only people that are doing any good financially are the filthy rich the rest of the middle class are loosing there home. Bush still hasn't done much in the recovery of the gulf coast but Texas is all fixed up like nothing ever happened there. It just amazes me that these backwards people vote for people that are only interested in big business and end up shooting themselves in the foot by the way they vote.

Second hand smoke and mirrors

In the last few decades they came up with the second hand smoke deal like that is the only thing bad in the air. That for the most part is the least of your worries. The buses and trucks and even the diesel powered cars are a lot worse then second hand smoke. Breathing diesel exhaust is like breathing asbestos. I learned about that back when I was in college in the early 70's. At that time it was being covered up by the manufactures of diesel engines and the oil industry who makes the fuel. It's just like the manufactures of asbestos who covered up the fact that you could get sick and die from breathing asbestos and did that very successfully for 50 plus years until in the 60's. The chemical industry doesn't want you to know what it's doing because it would cut into their profits. I wouldn't put it past these same people to blame all the problems on second hand smoke rather then taking responsibility for the problems they have created. We can't forget the regular cars either and the tons of dirt they pump into the air. Living in the foothills looking down on the city I can't see how people live down there. The air is so think and brown you can't see anything down there except maybe a few lights but no details. Bush has tried to raise the exceptable levels of lead in children. For years the lead level ratings have been going down and down as how much a child could be exposed to but Bush hired a guy from the lead industry and changed it to several hundred times what we used to have. Same thing happened with coal but Bush called it "the clean air act." Increasing the amounst of polution that power plants can spew out. That they didn't need to upgrade the plants to cleaner burning plants but that they could expand without any safe guards. Bush has took the country and world backwards. So in history there will be Bush 41 and then there will be Wrong way Bush started of several wars for oil. Contractors with no over site steeling billions from the American people. He could insure children saying it was too expensive but he can ask for 200 billion for his dead end war. There ar more Blackwater people in Iraq then there are American troops. Is Blackwater an word for oil by the oil corporations. This new world order is getting to look like it's one run by corporations and not countries. Blackwater is so big that it could if it wanted to take over a small country since it's better armed then most countries.

Mukasey can figure out if torture is torture, maybe he should try it out to find out. To say you don't know if it's torture and then Bush saying it's classified just gets me because almost everyone in the world knows about it now. It's been all over the web, TV, magazines and news papers that doesn't sound like it's very much a secret any more. The only reason he's balking is to protected the whitehouse like Alberto did and you seen where that got him. Well he's always got a job picking fruit.
