Lunch at Le Porch

Little Buddy, the one with the broken arm. I do everything I can to help my little buddy. He's such a nice little one and climbs on me and follows me around.
Baby Tigger kitten and Momma Kitty
Tiny one on a sunny afternoon coming for lunch.
Fresh milk for the tiny one and the kitties. Everyone shares.
He out walked me on three legs as I limped behind trying to catch up to see what was wrong with his leg.
Walking away after a good lunch
Relaxed and tail down, still has that bad limp where he hops along on three legs.
Looking back saying good bye, my little friend walks back to his den.
Bye little buddy, see you tomorrow.

Broken Antler doesn't get him down

Not sure how this buddy broke his antler but he's not giving up.  Was watching him practice on a bush the other night. At first I thought the antlers were starting to fall off like they do every year. I was asked if I could tell the black tail deer from a mule deer. Yes you need to be around then to see minor things like their noses. They bread together so many traits are shared.

The deer here have become nice friends to learn from. I'm just amazed in talking to them they seem to know every word I say. I just don't understand how someone can break up a family and harm these gentle creatures. Would be nice to see a hunter stuck on the front of a car going down the road. At least that would be a game both sides would understand.

Happy female smiles for a picture  next to the one antler buddy

Can't tell if the antler was broken while fighting or it broke off when it was growing in. They are live bone and bleed when damaged. I've seen one deer that spun his antler downward after falling in the heavy snow December 3rd 2008. That was really hard on everyone. I have a couple bags of grain I fed them until the snow melted a week later. There were so many deer here looking so sad and hungry. They need to constantly be eating all the time to stay warm. Grass and leaves are turned into energy but it's a lot of work. That was one of the worst storm I experienced up here. I heard that it used to snow more years ago but has been getting less and less. That storm covered everything knocking down power and phone lines. Took out the transformer here.

Sprockets and Baby Raccoon

"Hi Baby!" "But I'm a loving kitty that want to play"
 Come on buddy let play.
Your just a baby like me. You want to play with me?

Sprockets Kitty sees every one that comes here as a friend. She watches everyone that I interact with closely. The deer will walk up to her and watch her closely. Sprockets is fascinated by the deer also but keeps her distance. She watches me petting the skunks and picking burs out of their hair from a distance too. It's easier to pet a skunk then get close to any of the kitties.

Flat and little beady eyes

I have only seen this type bug one time but there's another bug that looks like this and blends into the bark of the tree. It was a cold day out and it's antennas were moving real slow. Looks like it has wings too. Sort of looks like a giant tic if there is such a thing. Has to be really specialized to look like this.

Just a big baby

Relaxed and enjoying a nice dinner of cat food. I really find it so fascinating how close bears are to us except the head shape. They have a vey similar frame as we do. Everything is somewhat the same and in the same places. Yes they can kill humans but that's not in there interest. They mainly eat nuts and berries and just a little bit of small furry creatures like squirrels and rabbits. This little guy a big baby is very shy and runs up a tree if I startle him. I've got to the point where he will sit for a picture and you can see he's very happy and smiling.

Puppy Girl

Everyone gets a turkey dinner Out at Bob's. Puppy Girl comes for dinner with her sister and baby. They get along with the kitties, skunks and raccoons although momma raccoon lets out a growl if the babies are there as a warning to stay away from her babies. The kit fox sure is a smart creature and does respond to my voice and hand gestures as good as the deer and bears. She has that classic mark on her nose, that black spot just like the other foxes do. He tail makes up almost half the length of her. I noticed in some books they measure the fox from nose tip to tail tip. As she walks her tails straight out. I think that tricks other animals into thinking the kit fox is much bigger then it is. I haven't seen her hair up close and wonder if it's like skunks hair that grows in two tones of color, half black and half white. If you saw her walking around her you would think it's a tame dog that's been with me for years, it's just that smart.

Colors of the day and time of the year

Changing colors and falling leaves. It's that time of year of cold and wet weather. Just hate raking up all the leaves. Does smell nice all the fireplaces going at night. The damp moist air cut through your cloths to let you know you have feelings. One thing about it being cold is you can put on more cloths unlike when it's hot. You spend more time inside in the fall and winter. Nice to see the ground get green with grass after the hot summer.

New visitor this morning. Much bigger then the kit fox but a smaller tail the coyote has learned how to survive with man and takes advantage of the surroundings finding pets good for dinner. It's amazing that a couple coyotes this size can take down a full sized deer. I noticed this guy was sniffing around for something fresh. Just hope they stay away and leave the smaller creature here alone.
Coyote in the morning light

Early bird gets the bug. Watch the woodpecker this morning making holes in the oak tree going after bugs. The bird was on the tree all morning. It would go between two trees and go back to the same spots.

Not looking forward to raking leaves but someone has to do it. Either that or have them stick to my feet when I walk into the house. I raked leaves for two days last week and the place was looking real good. I guess I'll be doing this again soon.

Free Bird

Good looking mother turkey and a very misunderstood bird. No they aren't stupid and they don't drown in the rain when looking up, that's a myth made by city folks. Passive and friendly birds and very family oriented teaching there young for my years. It's the farmed birds that are messed up because they aren't exposed to any bird that can teach them. The farm birds are very sad looking. Feathers are all bent up looking real bad. No they don't eat acorns either deer do not turkeys they just are too big for the bird.

Pasta Night with a few Friends

 Little extra for everyone
 It's even fun to eat
Even the Kitfox likes Bob's pasta

Maken' faces being silly

Cool Pictures

Have my pictures set on my screen saver and was watching the pictures go by when I realized I need to share some of these. I really have some great shots and only looked originally at just a few or one that day. I was taking pictures of native plants that were in bloom in July. Since it's dry in the summer these plants are real slender and small. Special insects pollinate these plants too.
This plant is so small I used a spacer between the lens and tripod to get this close. The flower on this plants about 1/8 inch a cross, very small. The total plant isn't much more then a few inches tall.
After the flowers it forms these seed in the round spheres. I noticed that the deer like native plants and not the ones brought here from the Europe invasion. Many of the native plants stay green even in the hottest of the summer months and are below the dried European grasses. I pulled the grasses out of the way this year and the green undergrowth took off. I was watching the deer stick there heads close to the ground eating something but it wasn't until I removed the dried grass did I see they were eating the native plants close to the ground.
These little flowers aren't much but they are coming in in the dry dirt where it's not watered during the hottest part of summer. I had a couple potted trees that didn't make it because of the heat when it was over a hundred several days in a row. The trees were being watered at night but it wasn't enough to cool the trees down from the extreme day heat. I don't think they are going to pull through after growing for 5 years here. It has been a different weather pattern since I first moved here. The last four years it became summer like weather in January and February, then went back to freezing cold rain and snow. We had a very late spring. Even the wildlife seem to have babies late in the year. The deer babies still had spots on them last month.
This is an interesting plant. The plant starts off growing close to the ground and is very leafy. The leaves almost lay on the ground they grow that close to the ground and under everything. It send this stem up and the wind caries the seeds. As you can see here the flowers are small and the seeds follow the flowers while the top part is still green and forming flowers. Depending on the surrounding  plants depends on how tall the center stem will grow. They can be from around a 10 inches to 24 inches tall.
This is just a cute picture of a deer checking out the kitten. The kittens are a bit on the wild side and don't want anything to do with me except food. That area of the yard is full of mint. There's also a plant that has a skunk like smell when the dew sets on it in the evening. The kittens are very unique in they they really stick together as a family fun and play partners. The white kitten in the background and black and white kittens are both females. I never seen cats climb trees like these guys do. It's not just a few feet up but they go way up the trees. The white kitten tried making friends with a couple baby raccoons. They also find the deer fascinating and sneak up and watch them. The rope on the cedar fence doesn't do anything it's there for looks. Thought it give it that pirates of the Caribbean type look. I noticed while on the ride that the rope on the posts didn't do anything either. It was there for looks.

LinkedIn took my Address Book

One day I got a email from a friend asking me to sign up for LinkedIn. I thought it was from my friend but turns out it was a bot, a LinkedIn bot. They sold I'm guessing my address book to spammers. That's when my mail accounts were hijacked. I got a letter from Microsoft after getting tons of returned emails in my inbox because they weren't email addresses but phone numbers, so they didn't email. Microsoft closed my account and sent a letter how to clean up the mess. The returned emails had Russian and other countries some with that use sand-script. I know LinkedIn was pushing to get up it's membership so they could look better when they went public driving up stock prices. They even started placing ads on here my blog page since my email address was in my address book. Makes me wonder if I need to encrypt my whole hard drive for security. That would be rather extreme. They didn't ask if they could steel my address book and mail everyone I know. After signing up to LinkedIn I started getting mail telling me who all has signed up. I have a lot of mad friends because of LinkedIn because of the amount of mail they have sent them. The mail looks like it came from me but didn't. The sites they want you to go to have malware. I'm real glade to hear that their stock price has dropped in the past few days. So dropped out of LinkedIn and I hope after reading this you won't be sucked into the LinkedIn scam.

Above the law

Been listening to a few interviews about people mainly in the government that seem to be above the law. Until they screw up big time they get away with everything. They say it's in the interest of the country that they don't even get brought up on charges saying that it would make the country look bad. Jerrold Ford's pardon of Nixon was the first big public pardon. Look forward and not back. That what was said about the Bush war in Iraq and all the lies that created that war. French money man was above the law also. Too big for jail for rape. Bernie wasn't too big for jail and needed to be stopped because he just hurt too many people and needed to be set as an example but for who. All the bankers selling crap and then taking out a beat saying that what they were selling was going to fail. Some insider trading people have been prosecuted but not that many. What happens when you screw up and almost crash the country and world economics you get a post in the presidents cabinet. Greenspan should be one of those people to help pay off all the losses because he wasn't minding the store which he was in charge of. Greenspan should end up penniless because of his actions. Phil Gramm and his wife Wendy should be looked into but they are people above the law. Not even on the fair playing field but able to change the system to make was was illegal changed to make it unmoral but now some what legal. Then the republican are always saying they are the moral party, what a joke. You need a job, a loan from a bank, lost money with your retirement program, republicans pilfered your money. Now they want to get the money of social security so they can steel that too.

Why do the republicans keep saying that they need to fix social security if it has so much money in the trust fund, it because they can't get their hands on that trust fund money. They would take all that money and leave everyone starving in the streets after taking their homes. Just come up with bank papers saying they own your house and kick you out with nothing. Why because they act above the law.

Ever wonder why programs seem to cost way more then you think it should cost? Well they add in fees for friends. That finds it's way into the pockets of election campaigns, build houses for senators, starts wars and hide drug and missile transactions. Then there's the countries we aren't suppose to do business with but when you have a ex-president on the board and a vice president that was your CEO then you can get tankers of oil from these countries. It's good that several EU countries have arrest warrants for some people for crimes against humanity and will end up at the World Court. I was told before by an accounting teach that wars are about land or money. Iraq was about money, oil. GWB had a map of Iraq on the whitehouse wall soon as he moved in and put his staff working on how to invade Iraq right from the beginning. When Bush said, "Now that should do it." after 9/11 and making the case for invading Iraq on a pile of lies. When you lie to the country it's not for the good of the country it's for personal gain and should be treason.

Manning for showing the world how the military was killing people at random and laughing about it as they were doing it never were charged. Seeing the video I wonder how they are living with themselves. Wonder if they are the ones committing suicide for killing innocent reporters and children. How can they justify their actions. Did the military give out blood money to all the families to make the problem go away?

Little faces

 Momma Kitty
 Sprockets
 Momma Kitty
Self serve. Deer lining up to help themselves to sticking their heads into the grain bag. They learn to open a sealed grain bag by watching me open them.

Happy Face

After photographing humans to capture emotions I have tried capturing the wildlife's expressions. At first I didn't know what I was looking at. Slowly it started coming to me. It wasn't so much just seeing it but feeling it. Now this is a Happy Face. I've seen this little bear scared at the sight of me and wanting to climb a tree for protection. Once it became a little used to me I could see the difference in his eye and face. The deer you can see smile or have a concern look to their face. Even the turkeys would express themselves. Older raccoons look the same almost as the young raccoons. There is a little rounded heads to the baby raccoons. They sure do look cute out exploring the world learning from mom. She's real protective of her babies and even growls at me if I get to close even though I've known her from a baby. Each animal has a way of expressing itself. For the most part I've found wildlife not to be too wild. Most people are frightened at the sight of anything they don't understand. I'm closer to the wildlife then my kittens. They run off at the sight of me even if I'm trying to help them. The kitfoxes are really something and come close to me. I thought it was a cat the first time I seen one but it was sitting down. When it stood up that long tail showed up. I've found that all the wildlife have a degree of smarts. I don't try to harm them and they see that. The deer I swear totally understand me and ever word I say. They even come to different names I've called them over the years. It's hard not excepting their friendship when it's offered no matter what they look like.

Little Fuzzy Kittens

You can click on the pictures to zoom in
Got the lion thing going on

Little Puppy

My friend the Kitfox walking up on the cedar fence
Trying to take a flash picture in the dead of dark. Still you can see the color of the Kitfox.
Kitfox and skunk wandering around. Everyone gets along here.
Running up close and sort of out of focus. My little friend is very hyper
I'm really amazed at the Kitfoxes because of how friendly they are. I can talk them over to a spot where I tossed a piece of cheese which they really like. This is the larger of the two Kitfoxes. They are very small creatures and the tail acts like a counter weight for balance. It's really got strong looking little legs. I'll walk on the porch and the puppy comes up on the walkway and sits down about 10 feet from me. The first time I seen a Kitfox here I thought it was one of the cats because it was sitting down. I called it over and motioned with my hand. It darted to the porch for some cat food. Being around dogs and wolves in the past I never seen anyone as smart as this little guy. It really is smart.

The baby raccoon's and mothers are here. Have the cutest albino baby, it's the lightest one year and almost looks white in the tree. Pasta night out at Bob's. Everyone likes pasta and cat food. The little skunk with the hurt front paw is here. It's a real friendly skunk that follows me everywhere. It's got a star like marking on it's forehead. I just hate seeing it limping getting around but it seems to be doing much better. It's holding food in bother paws so I don't think it's broken. They tend to jump off things or fall off and not know how far it is down. I see the baby raccoon's don't know where to wash their hands or drink the milk left out for the kittens. What still amazes me is wildlife isn't as wild as you think it is. That you can make friends with them. The wildlife is easier to get close to then the kittens.

Kittens at Play

Running after each other playing chase
Sneak attack and pouncing
Fun Jumping into each other
Attacking the tail grass
"Little Tigger"
Interesting photos taken through the kitchen windows and through the window screen. These kittens sort of have a lion thing going on. Been trapping them and getting them to a vet to be fixed. A woman saw two of the kittens and asked if she could adopt them. I said sure but there's one more in the family set. Hate to break up the family because they really like playing together. They also sleep in a pile together. I have to say, they sure are entertaining to watch play. Most of the time they sleep but when they are moving they are playing.

GOP goes for Neurotic Sociopath for President

What God told you to take over the planet? That's a good sign your a sociopath. Devil and witches were casted out of you by a fringe cult leader who thinks God is talking to him and he's rewriting the bible the way he thinks it needs to be written? That just might be a sociopath. Why is the GOP digging to the bottom of the barrel for a presidential leader? Eye of Newt? Anyone that doesn't agree with Newt is a "Elitist?" Everyones against you and out to get you, you might be a sociopath.

Tea Baggers aren't making to much noise after being taken over by the Koch brothers and funded indirectly through Dick Armey. What's it feel like to be used by the radical right?

Watching a news show about the Tea Baggers one thing really got me, the guy that said, "I want government out of my Medicare." He clearly doesn't know that Medicare is a government program.

If you listen to the GOP presidential candidates, they all are repeating the same talking points coming from the Koch brothers and the foundations they sponsor.  Karl Rove and his group American Crossroads gets it's money from the Koch brothers. No one still knows what that one group that slandered Kerry about his time in the military. The Right Wing supreme court said money is free speech and corporations are people but corporations can't be held responsible for their actions like people are. If a person kills someone they go to prison but if a corporation kills someone no one goes to jail even if they knew what they were doing would kill someone. Massy energy killed many people in several mines and just called it the cost of doing business when they get fined. Most of the time the judges are on business side so nothing ever happens because the judges got funds from an industry or corporation which they hold worth more then any human life. The minors in Nevada where the mine collapsed were left there and never even tried to recover the bodies because it cost the company too much. If there was more coal to be had then it might be worth it but that mine was on it's last leg.

Citibank was fined 280 million dollars for selling a 1 billion dollar packaged security then beat it was going to fail. They made 160 million on fees selling the package. The people that bought the package lost it all even though ratings companies rated it highly because they were paid to rate it highly. So, 280 million was just a fine for the cost of doing business and no one has gone to jail.

Bank of America can't manage itself because it's to big and too big to fail. When they were given the bailout money they bought other crap rather then taking care of itself. Now it's almost ready to fail again and plans to lay off 30,000 people and close banks around the world. Well, when BofA was first bought by Security Pacific back in the 80's it was a failing bank then.

The Glass Stegal Act need to be put back in place along with stronger Dodd Frank laws. To hear the republican say that they want to do away with regulation is just asking for more problems. The banks want to have a socialist policy of getting bailed out by the tax payers but want to be this failing capitalist corporation able to make stupid moves. All the GOP people running for office say they want to get rid of the regulations and what gets me is the mindless people hearing sound bites haven't a clue what they are talking about and play follow the leader over the cliff like lemmings.

Looking at what Greece is doing or what is happening there, it's what is going on here too. The rich aren't paying taxes and that's why they are failing. The idea we don't tax the rich so we can barrow money from the rich and pay them back with interest isn't going to last. A total free market without regulations will always fail. Even Greenspan said so being grilled at a senate hearing. He pushed for a self regulating market which doesn't work because people cheat and are greedy. One in America can a CEO run a corporation into the ground and get paid for running it into the ground and walk away with a outrageous pay package of hundreds of millions of dollars.

Perry wants to drill baby drill back to prosperity which is good for Texas corporations like Halliburton. So far the hunt for natural gas has only ended up polluting ground water. Areas that had "Fraking" done are having earthquakes which they never had before. Natural gas is leaking out of wells and cracks made by "Fraking." The Oil Sand pipeline is only for the export of diesel fuel because they can't make much else from it. Watching TV ads, where they say we are your friends and we just need to get rid of the clean air and water acts and get the EPA not to regulate greenhouse gases and everything will be fine. One ad says natural gas is cleaner then coal. That's true but it still puts greenhouse gases in the air. So it isn't safe. Texas has the worst drought in living history but Perry says he believes that climate science is a conspiracy so they can get research money. Mean while the largest fires in Texas history burned on with no water to put them out. Farmers are going under and cattle can't be fed. Only in America is global warming being played as a political toy, the rest of the world sees it as fact. Why would corporations spend billions to make up fake science to try to put down global warming. Bush said global warming would be good then people in cold areas could be working all year round building houses. Everyone discounting global warming is tied to oil and chemical industries.

Big Foot and Baby's

My baby resting after a run up the road here. She cleaned herself and now resting before dinner. She has a unique mark on her nose. Very friendly and lets me pick the burs off her. I found brushing her causes a bit of pain but she knows I'm just helping get the burs out. She will make a little peep as I brush her but leans into the brush. I was worried when she had a cold and her nose was running. She kept sneezing one day and didn't want to be around me. She's doing much better now.
No not my wet foot print. It's baby Bear's foot print. Amazing how close it looks to a human foot print except you don't see and part of the back of the foot. This is a front foot print. I've noticed they step with the back foot on the front part of the foot but bring down the back part like humans do. They step so softly as they walk. Step a little stop and wait to see if anyone has noticed them moving. Even though the bear is a baby and for most people it would scare them mainly seeing the size of their heads. Most of what your seeing is hair fluffed up, standing up. Still we aren't used to see anything big but dogs and then we back away even if the dog is friendly. We will gauge that by how it jumps on us and starts licking us where to be afraid. Still folk lour plays in the back of our minds. The stories of people eaten in their sleeping bags with candy bar crumbs all over them. For the most part they just want a bit to eat and that is something like nuts and berries. Water is something else they are looking for. They can smell way better then any dog with that long nose. They avoid contact with humans as much as possible. If your cooking out in the wild or in a park and a bear shows up they are just thinking, "Your having a party and didn't tell me." They are eating machines but black bears don't eat any thing bigger then a squirrel. They are afraid at seeing something as big as a deer and when I seen seven turkeys go after a bear causing it to run off, I was real surprised. They explore and think about what they are doing and  see what happens when they do something. Slow and steady as they go. One think I noticed with a larger female was don't poke her in the butt when she can't see you. She turned and snapped at her baby when it bumped into her.
