Alaska Quake 2018

They had a pretty good shaker up there in Alaska. Up there it's one plate diving under another plate. Back when I was in college I had a great Geology teacher. He looked like he belonged with rock and out in the western deserts mining away. He sure had some great stories. Our field trips were pretty good also. Pete was more a friend thenjust a teacher. The stories he'd tell were great and you just wanted to stop doing everything and listen to him. He could talk real good and that's why he was such a great teacher.

The one story I was thinking about was from the 1964 earthquake in Alaska. He was talking about being on a ship with the tital wave. The boat was like surfing on the tital wave. He looked over the railing and could see tree below the boat. The ship was traveling over a forest inland. The ship really didn't have much say in where it was going. The tital wave was giving them a ride and it's not going to stop until it ran out of energy. When the ship came to rest it was a couple miles inland in the forest. I guess it did this to train cars also.

That quake was 9.2 Mag. and this one the other day was 7.0 Mag. that's a couple numbers less then the 9.2 right, wrong. Going from 7.0 to 8.0 is 32 times greater and going from 8.0 to 9.0 is 32 times greater then 8.0.  I remember this plot graph we had in one book. It showed the sizes of the quakes as circles and each one was 32 time greater then the next one.

Pete said that one family whose house was shaking and on the land that slide a long ways. The people sat down on the couch because the shaking was going on for so lone they got tired of being scared and sat down and road out the shaking. This families house traveled about a 1/4 mile down him while others may have traveled as far as a mile down hill. That's amazing getting borredand sitting down and riding out the shaking.

I remembered the photos I looked at of down town. There was 30 feet of displacement where a store sank 30 feet and the road was 30 feet above the store front. Going through something like that has to be real memerable. No other quake could ever beat the 1964 quake. I never looked for video of that quake. I should do that. I guess it would be film and not video. Video cameras back then were large boxes with lenses stuck on the turut. They had large stands to hold them up and move smoothly across the floor of the studio. So 8mm or super 8 would have been the type film that people would have.

Time to feed my kitties. I so love my little kitties. It's amazing how they have grown on me. Now they are the most special little guys ever. I really love my kitties.

See it, Share it, Document it.

I've been documenting my life for a long time now. I bought a "3 TB Western Digital Drive" to put all my stuff on but it crapped out. The data is all there just that there's no partisan to the drive and it shows up as two drives and not one. As with all Microsoft programs and operating systems they will crash and at the worst time too. I've never have Windows work right and not crash. Back up drives don't seem to help. Those crap out too.

I'll shoot about 10,000 photos a year and lost 17 years of photos. What a hit. What a heart breaker that was. I don't even have the photos I made prints from framed and hanging on the walls of the living room. I haven't gone back to the small books with prints from film and those negs. When those were scanned back then they only came on a floppy disc. So those scans were really small. Just thumb nails by today's sizes. That little Fujifilm Digital Camera shoots 15 MB photos.

Well, when you have all the items that have happened to me you don't get shocked at such a defeat or lose. I've been robbed so many times I'm used to that but now I'm disabled and can't work like i used to where I could make up my losses.

How about that win in Mexico? 53% of the vote. There was a popular vote in 2016, abut plus 3 million votes. Trump's fake reality said they had to be fake voters that aren't true Americans. Then there's the photos of the mall from Obama's day to Trump's day where he had to make up his fake facts or Kelly's "alternative facts." Thing is about science it's either black or white, on or off, one or zero no gray colors where you can apply what ever numbers you want to place on your fake facts. You could clearly see Obama day at the mall vs Trump's fake numbers day at the mall. Trump had to say, " there was more people at the mall then ever before. Total lie. Well, you see things when your mentally ill and have a different reality then normal people.

There's a news report where the person doing the interview of the doctors who are warning the American people, congress and senate about how mentally ill Trump is and the country is in danger. The book she wrote and had 36,000 other doctors come up with the same mentally conclusion about Trump's mental illness. The country and the world are all in danger.

The pulling out of the Iran deal because people in his cabinet told him not to. He had to do that to show those others who didn't want him to pull out of the Iran deal.

Trump's failure at the G-7 summit where he's talking about Russia being in the summit but Trump can't understand what happened, he doesn't read news so he can't look up the facts. He don't believe the war crimes every one pointed out. He just says, So why can't they be back in the G-8? Give me a burger to eat in bed. The bed without his wife in. He doesn't have a wife he's got a contract.

So in 2020 we need to have a 53% victory over Trump so he knows that people do not want him and the crap he pulls. So amazing how most of the world hates Trump but he can't figure it out. He's living high in his tower away from reality. It's too bad we had Donna Brazil and a few others running 2016 election. I don't understand how Donna Brazil went to college and even teaches at a college level but she talks like she from a different country. What happened to her when she put in her 10,000 hours to get her degree? With all the talking and debating plus books she would have read why isn't her English better then Trump's? Why wasn't Bernie put on the ticket where he clearly would have won by a land slide. Did you see Bernie's rallies? They were blowing away Trump's rallies. You couldn't even pay them to go to a Trump Rally. Clinton didn't put in her time going to all the states. She felt everyone will just vote for her and she doesn't have to go to places like Michigan. Why did people believe people like Donna Brazil knew what she was doing. I really don't understand how she went to college and never learned how to talk. Did she really put in 10,000 hours reading and writing? What about talking to business people or senators others who also went to college. I've found that when you hang out with people, groups of people that is a little bit from them rubs off on you and you take part of their personality off with you.

I guess there's a good movement of the Democratic Socialist. That's really good and really good ideas too. People that will be working for the good of the whole and not just to rip off the country and retire like Paul Ryan's doing. He's lined his pockets and now it's time to go home. Well, it's good he didn't get his claws into Social security like he wanted. His idea was to give every one less so he could get a cut. Those republicans have wanted to get a hold of that money so bad. They lather from their mouth just thinking about that money.

What will be left....

So far it's been shown how long things last by looking at the past monuments to ourselves and others we blamed life's difficulties on. Most things man makes don't last all that long. The pyramids lasted a while but know one knows what they were used for. I can't even keep photos on my computers and on discs for very many years.

So how long do you thing your left over things will survive after your family and friends pick over your things? What if they just hired a business that just filled your things in a bin and haled everything away to a land fill? Not too much of your live would be left. Success in the game of live is how many offspring did you leave behind and how are their families growing.

They you have to wonder how long it will be before your forgotten. Without that headstone to remember you there's not much else for people to remember you by.

I tried storing photos on a back-up hard drive which didn't last very long and lost all info on the drive including the partition. The manufacture said all I had to do was Fdisk it and set new partition and format the drive. I lost 100,000 photos taken over the past 15 years. It was wildlife doing things most people haven't seen before. So, that back-up drive wasn't. I never even got to back-up the back-up drive to disc. So I can't even hang onto photos I've taken when I'm still alive. How will it be after I'm gone? Lost to history like I was never here? I'd sure like to be freeze dried. Then I could be stood up in the corner some place maybe with some of my photos.

Just think of all the written things people have wrote down never to be seen. I've got tons of folders of my writing. I just wonder if there's another Einstein out there that wrote ideas down but so a house could be sold or rented, everything in the house was thrown out.How many great ideas have been tost aside?

I was thinking when I go maybe I could donate my body to a school and have my body freeze dried. Then it could be stored in a big freezer bag and barred in the ground with some concrete placed over the hole I was placed in. There I could remain until the next generation of out planet grow up to where we are now. I'm thinking that climate change will do us all in and most of the life on the planet. I was having a hard time last summer when the temp got up to 105 degrees and above. I wasn't feeling all that great with the high temps. The house wouldn't cool off at night like it used to do before it got this hot. Well will I bake to death because Trump doesn't believe in global warming because it still snows. He was down in San Juan saying that wasn't a real hurricane because at the time only 16 people were counted as dead. What did he do, throw out paper towels. They are still working on getting electricity to people almost a year later.

Watching the report by 36,000 doctors saying Trump is mental ill and are trying to warm the country of the problem because he can't think and acts on impulse. He will do things because others told him not to like the Iran deal and the Paris accord. In 2020 Trump needs to be voted out of office by a 25 to 40 % lead on the American vote. Every thing he's done has been just a con job for the rich. Why he has started 49 corporations, LLC since taking office is against the law to be profiting in office. He wants to put condos in North Korea and see that as a great deal for him. When are people going to see that they voted to get screwed. The laws he talks about are protections for people so you won't get killed by corporations errors and wrong doing. Every thing he's done is to harm the people of the country. Remember his promise for heath care as soon as he's in office and it's going to be so cheap. Well that turn out to be we would let you have access to health care at your cost. If you can't buy it that's too bad. You didn't want it that bad. Where's the jobs, the good jobs he promised. They never showed up. Then he promised he would give you everything you ever wanted all your life for 30, 40, 50 years I'll give them to you. That sure is an empty con promise. Just lies because he's manically ill. He needs to the 25th amendment to take place to remove him.

The day that changed my life

I'm trying to think how old I was standing in the gauntlet to shake his hand. I know I was rather small and my father had to push me through the people so I could be out front. It was the summer before the 1960 election. I didn't know how much that day would effect my life.

It was only a hand shake but he was going to be the president in just a few months. My Uncle Tom Saks an engineer from Ford Motor Company, brought us to this event. I think it was one of the only events like this my father and I every went to. I didn't understand politics just yet and my father was one to read about it in the news paper and comment about everything at the dinner table.

This day also effected my father and he loved telling everyone how he had to bend down with his back back to shake my hand. It was a injury from WWII. He was hurt in WWII and got a Purple Heart like my father did. They both belonged to the D.A.V. I think he had a genetic problem with his back also. I seem to stop the guys from walking down the gauntlet of people and they stopped at me. He bent down and shook my little hand and commented as he stood back up, "Here's a future democrat." It was my hand, not a big deal I'm sure he shook many young peoples hands. All the guys with him and the people around us all laughed. Little did he know how that hand shake would effect me, my life. I believed in fairness to all. Everyone deserved to be treated the same as equals.

Three more years he would be dead and how that would effect me. My father almost took off work so we could drive to Washington for the funeral. It was TV's big moment, Sending a signal across the country so everyone on all the networks could watch and be part of the funeral. I remember kneeling as my mother lead us in the "Rosary." There was so many wet eyes all across the country

It was around this time also did I learn about other people. Why didn't they get treated the same? We were kids playing in the creek with a couple paper cups catching frogs to inspect them and toss them back in the water. It was sort of a bridge a couple pipes that the water went through and a road over the top of the pipes. This was a fourth of July event put on by the vets club my father and many others all belonged to. The Veterans of Foreign Wars, The VFW, they put on a lot of events through the year. They had Christmas doings. All sorts of things like that for the families. Then there was those days where they got together for a beer or two. Jerry Ford would stop by and buy a round or two of drinks for everyone. My mother did Betty's hair where she worked. Was really odd how the grownup got all defensive. It was our fathers and there fathers. Us kids, well we were just kids and didn't see anything wrong catching frogs in the creek. We were laughing and having a great time until the fathers came running down. Us kids were looking at each other as our parent took us back to the picnic area we were at.  We waved at each other as we were pulled along. We didn't say much just waves to our new friends who we were having a great time with until the parents showed up. We were just kids we didn't know that white kids and colored kids couldn't play together. Who made up these stupid rules? We were just kids having fun and that's all that mattered to us. We didn't care about anything else. Just kids playing making friends nothing else.

Grand Rapids, what a wonderful little town. Well, it was growing, slowly. My father would take us on the Sunday drive. I like that driving along the river and listening to my father talk about catching fish and frogs. We would see the mounds of the Native Americans. I thought that was exciting. We would stop at a ranger station and it had all the info on the mounds and the things they have found. I'm still wishing I would have found arrow heads. Just not my luck.

My father would talk about the big ship that used to sail up the Grand River. We had American Seating and they went through a lot of wood. The Catholic School I went to look down into the factory where you heard the saw ad sanders going. The smells of fresh cut wood was always so nice and pleasant to smell.

TV ad.....hernia surgery

I called this one number about hernia mesh but they said I had to have surgery in the last year. I asked them about the different problems I was having and they said yes, that's it, from your hernia mesh. I'll be standing and maybe leaning over the counter when all the sudden I get this pain where my surgery was. It could be on the left or right since I had a double hernia surgery. The first year after my surgery I was having all sorts of problems and didn't know where to turn. I didn't know it was related to my hernia surgery. Well, it's been almost twenty years since the surgery and I'm still having these intense cramps. Guess I'll just have to get used to it. Too late now to do anything about it. Now I'm waiting for emergency back surgery to repair a broken titanium rod. While I wait I'm hoping that the other rod holding my body up won't break and really cause a lot of damage. It's nice to know what's causing these random pains.

Yes it posted to the right site.

Testing my Out at Bob's site

So hard to sign into my site because my browser saved my names and passwords. I think this will post to the right spot now that I'm signed on here. I see the picture in the corner has changed. Sure wish that writing program from Microsoft still worked. Then there's the one MIT came up with that really is crazy on how it works. Since every things gone I'll try downloading Windows Live Mail again.
